Fellow teachers! Have you heard of KaHoot? If you haven't it is highly recommend you try it this next school year. Think intense, interactive jeopardy. I was way too competitive at the conference my county had when it was introduced to us, but I was at a mandatory conference and I was engaged! In fact, everyone was! Now imagine how students would react?
There are pre made KaHoot quizzes (work smarter not harder!) OR you can make your own quizzes. Basically, you have students individually or in teams log into a device whether it be a iPhone, iPod, iPad, laptop or desktop, ect. with a code that is given to you. Teachers need to display their screens and let the fun begin! A questions will pop up with four multiple choice answers, students quickly answer to the best of their ability and are scored on both if it is correct and then how fast they were. You can also adjust the timer if you want it to be a more serious quiz and not so much of a game show. One of the best parts is that you can download the results and use them as a grade! (Again working smarter!) They have three different types of games: quizzes, discussion (interactively start a discussion) and a survey. I can see this neat tool having so many applications in the classroom. Reviews, check ups, rewards and actual assessment! Try it! Let me know how you would use it! |
